I have quite a few of those mentioned above (particularly on one or two lists).

A few more that I believe haven't been posted so far:

Lush - Spooky
Julian Cope & Donald Ross Skinner - Rite
Kitchens Of Distinction - The Death Of Cool
Catherine Wheel - Ferment
Afghan Whigs - Congregation
Red House Painters- Down Colourful Hill
Jesus And Mary Chain - Honey's Dead
Brian - Understand
Porcupine Tree - Voyage 34
FSOL - Accelerator
The Orb - U F Orb
Gorecki - Symphony Number 3 (The London Sinfonietta recording on Nonesuch Records)

(I don't think I discovered the Porcupine Tree and Red House Painters ones until after 92)
oh the sun is shining
and I'm on that road

The same as it has been since 2001.

As Humphrey Bogart said 'if you have to ask, you don't know me...'

I agree - sorry I love Spiritualized - Jason is still going strong.
Lazer Guided Melodies (1992)
Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space (1997)
Let It Come Down (2001)
Amazing Grace (2003)
Sweet Heart Sweet Light (2012)

are all better than almost everything Spaceman 3 did. Don't get the hate here.

Your apology is accepted.
I would be very worried if "Jason" was sorry about my feelings, but there's no accounting for feelings.

Spiritualized took all the worst elements of Spacemen 3 and amplified them. You know, the stupid "Jesus" stuff and the embarrassing gospel backup singers. Somehow they blew them out beyond the limits of comedy. They also, to my mind, participated in the horrifying bombast of the time exemplified by other embarrassing bands such as: Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, and that appalling band from Iceland everyone likes.

But because I am a magnanimous person who endeavors to do good and be nice, I forgive "Jason," Spiritualized, and all their deluded fans.

This begs for the question: Has there ever been a year without at least 20 excellent albums? The answer is obvious: no, there hasn't.

For me 2000 - 2021

I would be pushed to list any from most of those years....

I have bought about three four new albums since 2000 - I forgot this masterpiece from 2015

Still, I have started off 2021 well with this purchase:

Dinosaur Jr and Built to Spill would be it for new bands methinks...

I pulled out a random number from the hat: 2006.

Bob Dylan - Modern Times
Bonny 'Prince' Billy - The Letting Go
Drive-by Truckers - A Blessing and a Curse
Decembrists - The Crane Wife
Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
Elvis Costello & Alain Toussaint - The River in Reverse
Cat Power - The Greatest
Bruce Springsteen - We Shall Overcome - The Seeger Sessions
TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Grizzly Bear - Yellow House
Yo La Tengo - I'm not afraid of you and I will beat your ass
Guy Clark - Workbench Songs
Ali Farka Toure - Savane
Calexico - Garden Ruin
Johnny Cash - American V: a Hundred Highways
Lambchop - Damaged
Donald Fagen - Morph the Cat
Tom Yorke - The Eraser
Solomon Burke - Nashville
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
The Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics

Just sayin'. And those are just the ones I know/own.

We should have an entire thread on Bonny 'Prince' Billy/Will Oldham, One of the best singer-songwriters over the past 30 years. His "I Can See A Darkness" album is in my top-10 ever.

I’ve got yearly top 25ish lists from my birth year 63 until 2019 .
Little weak after 2010 but I think that will fill in over the next few years.

I think the 90s was a marked improvemnt on the 80s, where I found I was really alienated from the current scene. I am 58 and started collecting CDs in 1990. Lived in Tokyo, the best city for CDs in the world. I found I opened up to new music, even though I was also busy exploring the past. In 95-97 I was in London, right in the middle of Cool Britannia. It was all very exciting. I'll list what I got from your list and then what I bought, but got rid of later on in my many purges.

First the keepers:

Ingenue - K.D. Lang
Check Your Head - The Beastie Boys
Harvest Moon -Neil Young
Insesticide - Nirvana
Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine
The Future - Leonard Cohen
Hormoaning (EP) - Nirvana
The Chronic - Dr. Dre
Live in Japan - George Harrison
Kiko - Los Lobos
Of Magic and Loss - Lou Reed

Then the ones I got rid of later:

The Southern Harmony &... - The Black Crowes

Actually, I bought the live George Harrison, then got swayed by a very negative review and sold it, only to buy it again many years later.
"When the desert comes, people will be sad; just as Cannery Row was sad when all the pilchards were caught and canned and eaten." - John Steinbeck
