Elton John's net worth
Over at misterstocks.com, there's a clickbait feature today that goes on for so long, I finally gave up. They have rounded up all the surviving golden age stars (whatever that means) with a youth photo and a current photo, and revealed their net worth. Top scorers are (before I gave up): Quincy Jones and Elton John with $500 million each.
Here's Elton now, plus ca change:

Who really knows, but I think Paul McCartney is worth a lot more than that.

Oh, yes, but I did not get that far.

Easily googled. Macca top with $1.2 billion. 2 is Bono, 4 is Bruce. I'd have been forever trying to guess number 3 though !

On one list, Jay-Z pips Paulie with 1.4 billion, third is Andrew Lloyd Webber with 1.2 billion, which doesn't really surprise me. His musicals ran forever.

I wonder if that Jay-Z number includes Beyonce's earnings.

I googled richest rock stars 2021 which may have produced slightly different result, but even so U2 or ABBA don't seem to feature anywhere in your list so I'm suspicious of the calculation methods. The list I looked at had all 8 members of abve named in top 35

Jay-Z had a record label and branched out into sporting goods, I think.

....and Lloyd Webber wasn't the surprising number 3 I referred to.

Anyway I recall many years ago reading that Sheena Easton was among the richer musicians (maybe not in the league we are talking about here) in the world, because she had invested in US real estate development.

Re: Elton John's net worth
I looked at several 2021 lists - they are all over the place, though generally agree McCartney is at no.1. There seems to be no actual factual assessment, probably because these people keep their finances under wraps.
