Oh yeah, there was a Keystone in Berkeley too. It was closed by the time I moved here (I think).

If I wasn't so lazy I'd go and fetch my Merl Saunders/Jerry Garcia Live at the Keystone album and see if there are details. Bet it's in the USA.







Probably in Berkeley and a good venue for jazz in particular ;)

i had 2 days in san fran once. that was it. i went to alcatraz and ate somewhere absolutely killer on a beautiful coast area. my only trip to california

These tracks were recorded in Berkeley April 1975. One of Deke's Man books explains how they met John Cippolina and he was amazed they knew his material in depth. They all played together, and invited him over to London. The next month he joined them, touring with them and recording tonight's album in May 1975 at the Roundhouse.
