Best act to have released one album only?

Postby GoogaMooga » 05 Sep 2021, 12:45

Never Mind the Bollocks should be eligible if it's albums released while the artist or band is still active. Blind Faith is another obvious choice. Baby Huey. The Big Bopper?

Lake of Dracula
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

C, I'm shocked that you would willingly overlook the live album! Weren't you there?

Lauryn Hill, and I am definitely ignoring the mtv record.

There are quite a few combinations which only released one really good album, like Terry Hall and Mushtaq, or Booth and the Bad Angel, or the Tears, but perhaps we shouldn't count them.

No one here will agree, but I think The Smiths should have stuck to singles and e.p.'s aside from 'The Queen is Dead.'

The Dictators might as well have retired from recording long players after their first album.

Did Spooky Tooth ever record anything remotely as good as 'Spooky Two'?

The first Spooky Tooth is pretty good but forget the rest. As for the Smiths can't agree I'm afraid.

I was only thinking studio albums Chas….

I did see them live but that was a bit earlier - the first leg of their first tour.

Now, other contenders:
T2
Writing on the Wall

They are not in the same league as Quatermass and Blind Faith though

Lol, I just realized I posted this on the wrong thread.

Yeah, the first Spooky Tooth album is alright, but I wouldn't care if it didn't exist. I'm glad they recorded "Sunshine help me" though.
