According to Wikipedia it comes from the original play on which both films were based. As the first time the expression appeared in print was 1969 I have no idea how anyone knows which of the sources directly inspired it.

It was. But the Americans took it from their version, I would imagine?

The first deep cleaning at the dentists after three years of no visits is "character building."

Donald Drumpf's father's middle name was Christ.

Glad that he didn't pass THAT on to Little Donnie.

The voice at the beginning of Love Song by The Damned on Machine Gun Etiquette that says;

"Ladies & Gentlemen, ow do".

Is none other than Albert Tatlock from Coronation Street.

Only read just now about Freddy Trump. It's so much worse: Çhrist seems to be part of his last name. His mother was called Elizabeth Christ Trump (so not Elisabeth, so definitely not Jewish) which, unless I'm wrong, make The Donald's full name Donald Trump - Christ. How could we be so wrong?? We had the chosen one in our midst and we crucified him.

The Jesus & Mary Chain’s Jim Reid lives in Sidmouth, Devon.

My mother in law lives there - you might think it is a bit genteel for a hell raiser like Jim.

There is a very flash house on the hill overlooking town which is supposed to have a studio within. I was told years ago a Scot owned it. Jim Reid was the last person I’d have thought of.

I don’t know if it’s his mind you.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

UPDATE: I spoke to the MIL last night and she told me she once went to a soiree at the studio house. She didn't remember the host but his wife was called Angela so I reckon my J&MC theory is caput. Seems like the retired star is from the '60s rather than the '80s. :?

She mentioned that the Stones (or a Stone) used the studio (allegedly).

The original info (Jim Reid living in Sidmouth) came from the band's biog (Barbed Wire Kisses) which I picked up for £3.50 from Trago's.

Yahoo reports that a former porn star has been indicted on 34 counts of sexual assault across more than two decades. You'd think he got enough action on set, but no.

By this, do you mean that you believe men commit sexual assaults because they are not able to find and have sexual relationships consensually?

I learnt that Rashida Jones is the new president of MSNBC.

I was however disappointed to further learn that this is not the daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton/former SNL star/current filmmaker of the same name.

How should I know. I just found it curious that a former porn star would have had that urge. And, seeing that it was over two decades, it probably wasn't in retirement either.

Aw, come on, Minnie, quit grilling me. If you can't see a paradox there, then there's nothing I can do.

Googa - why do men commit sexual assault?
Why don’t you look on this as a learning opportunity rather than digging yourself a hole. Do you think it’s because they are ‘not getting action?’
