OMG, three other people just started threads.

How come you can't delete posts like in the good old days?

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

The amazing thing, to me anyway, is that there hasn't been a death in the Stones camp since Brian in 1969. Unless Stu counts.

Stu counts. But was it Keith who once commented, "When Charlie goes, that's it". It's over. One year short of their 60th. He was the backbone of The Rolling Stones. RIP

Couldn't agree more. And: as for me, Charlie was not only one of very few really cool characters in all of rock & jazz, nothing of his attitude ever was a kind of 'theatre', 'pretending', whatever term one chooses. A unique personality, a gentleman, and he is not with us any more.

Rest in peace, mr. Watts.
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

What an absolute perfect drummer he was for the band. He was the coolest one in the band. He must have been more ill than was let on when they announced he wouldn’t tour. The band really needs to hang it up now although I get why they might want to do the upcoming tour. They were the last stadium tour I saw in 1989.

It's very sad to no longer live in the same world as Charlie Watts.

I always thought he'd outlive the rest of the Stones.

Found this photo in a tribute to Charlie in Dutch newspaper Het Parool. I love it:

Nice little interview at the end - he talks about Miles Davis

Very sad about this, Charlie and the Stones have been with me since they started and have been my favourites for so many years. I for one am glad they continued, even when so many seemed to want them to stop. Will they continue without Charlie? I would think so given that, apparently, he has already given his blessing to Steve Jordon for the new tour., I wouldn't mind betting that that will continue.

You had a great innings Charlie, thanks for the memories. R.I.P.

Is it just me or has Keith got something odd on his ear?
