Up to episode 3 of the excellent "Mare Of Easttown" about a police detective (Kate Winslet) in a Pennsylvanian town, who has a complicated murder case to solve, along with a complicated life outside of the job.
Really well paced with some very strong performances, it looks like growing into a real thriller as the miniseries progresses.

Rev. Series 1.
Tom Hollander plays Vicar Adam Smalbone, newly appointed to an inner-city London church after leaving a small rural Suffolk parish together with his lawyer wife Alex (Olivia Colman).
An absolute joy and it's quite unsurprisingly BBC2's highest rated sitcom (and has been sold to 140 countries.)

It's got all the elements of classic Coen Bros. another tale where random odd things seem to happen and I've only watched episode 1

Don't you all adore Michael Portillo, his jaunty outfits and his passion for trains.
There's absolutely nothing to match the sheer beauty of the British landscape.

I think "adore" is a bit strong!
"tolerate as a travel presenter" might be closer.

We just finished the final episode of the final series of The (American) Office. A pleasure from start to finish and judging by my tears at the end credits some of those characters really fucking got to me!

Lupin Part 2.
After three episodes it all seems pretty much sorted so I haven't a clue what the final two episodes will be about.
Generally, it doesn't seem to be as engaging as the first 5 episodes but likeable enough.

We stopped after Episode 7 last night...
While I really enjoyed the first half, this is rather hard-going and much more lazily directed and acted (the scene in the derelict mansion for instance was really bad cinema)
Loads of illogical stuff that does my brain in, too - starting with the dog only barking half the times he should.

I'm going to make it to the end now, but I can fully understand what you mean. A huge drop off in quality between the two halves of the series.
Bugger off.

The Line of Beauty, a Brideshead Revisited for late 1980's London although in this case the illness that the gullible and hapless 'guest and family friend' has to babysit and try to keep in check is bipolar disorder.
HIV and AIDS hover over all three episodes: there are friends who become ill whilst still firmly in the closet and there are those who disappear.
I stumbled onto Channel 4's Episode 1 of Series 2 of This Way Up last night and it's fabulous. Why did no one tell me about it ?! It features two Irish sisters living in London and they swear like troopers but all in the best possible taste. Jaysus!
Stars Sharon Horgan and Aisling Bea.

You did the right thing. I made it to the end but the final episode in particular was abysmal. It was shocking just how bad it was.

Clarkson's Farm is (perhaps surprisingly) very good.
Gives a decent if skimming insight into the reality of farming, introduces some great local characters and is Clarkson-style bloody funny.

I'm not a prolific reader of books but this series is worth a shout out... and it's on the BBC.
Richard E Grant visiting the places selected novels were written to get beneath the skin of the area.

The short piece on Christ Stopped at Eboli was eye opening.

I saw the first episode and agree, well worth a watch.
As Public Service Broadcasting would say it really does inform-educate-entertain.

Post World War 2 and the acute labour (no pun intended) pains, teething and growing pains of Minister of Health Aneurin Bevan's new National Health Service.
Superb series with cast including Annette Crosbie and Kenneth Cranham.
These two new young partners in general practice look like they're going to be at loggerheads and they are from time to time, even over sharing a taxi
