Local guys I need to see live. The white dude is Joe Craven who played with David Grisman back in the day so I have history with him as he grew up here and has performed locally for decades. It’s a fusion of Mexican/West African/bluegrass.

Awesome Les!

I particularly enjoyed this one:

Always makes me smile when I play this. Everything seems to be at 100 mph, but they try so hard. :D

Spot on analysis

A good album

The law of diminishing returns soon after though

It is even better than Elegy

Two of the finest guitarists of their generation, and what do you get? A sprawling, wankfest and a waste of space. Could/should have been something special and all we seem to get is "I can play faster than you". "But what about the tunes?".... "forget the tunes....I can play faster than you!"

Didn’t do much for me either. Nice cover shot though but I wish I hadn’t bothered all those years ago.

Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings - Bo Hansson

You guys remember this one? Cool, proggy music from 1970 from Swede Hansson, rereleased in '72 with the cover above. Instrumental tunes which sometimes remind me of early Floyd, but there's also a medieval feel to stuff like "The Old Forest & Tom Bombadil." Druggy and post-psych. Groovy stuff!

This was the original Swedish cover:

"The Black Riders & Flight to the Ford" is on now and I'm digging it...

^ That is a really nice album.

Bo Hansson had previously been half of Hansson & Carlsson (!) who wrote and recorded this tune, subsequently adopted by Jimi Hendrix (who they had opened for in Sweden):

Yes -a very good album.

I bought it at the time

The next one - Magician's Hat, is better

In fact, I have the next one also Attic Thoughts. I recall it has a terrible cover.

I was obsessed with The Lord of the Rings when this came out so, of course, I bought it.
Sadly, it did very little for me.
I really hate that cover and didn't enjoy the music much except for Flight to the Ford.
Bugger off.

For example (a good album though!)
