The Ten Best Krautrock Albums
I have them all.
I suppose most of the goons do too
Some may say it is not very adventurous
They may be right.
Okay, which two [only] would you replace and with what?

Re: The Ten Best Krautrock Albums
Not quite sure I understand this statement:
There’s a freedom in all of these albums, an interstellar exploration through music — whether it’s with guitars, drones, or synths — that’s futuristic but completely human (thus, no Kraftwerk on this list, despite their image being the one most associated with krautrock).

Give a shit or be a shit.

Re: The Ten Best Krautrock Albums
I count six that I have, though I have albums by all of these bands, I'm pretty sure. Would probably switch out 'UFO' for 'Kanguru' and switch out that Can album. I really don't get the appeal of that album at all.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Re: The Ten Best Krautrock Albums
The first La Dusseldorf-album probably is slightly better than Viva but both are most excellent.
Amon Duul- Phallus Dei, surely?

Agreed
I would swop Alpha Centauri for Phaedra - that would be a definite and probably one of the above

Re: The Ten Best Krautrock Albums
I have trouble classifying Phaedra or even Zeit as a pure definition of Krautrock...a term Edgar wasn't found of to begin with.
I'm surprised Ash Ra Tempel didn't make the cut. Prime example of the roundabout way the original bands went about the progression of their sound. Even Walter Wegmullers Tarot was a superb album.
Think I'll play some Cosmic Jokers now too....

I agree with Rother for UFO but not so sure about Movies instead of AF
They are all excellent album - that you identify - that's the difficulty

You have changed more than two - that's against (my) rules!
Good substitutions though with the exception of Kraftwerk
I'd go Autobahn instead

Agreed - I always feel uncomfortable writing/saying it
I prefer 'German 70s electronica'
But that's not great...

Sorry sir, i never read your question properly. I agree with Autobahn- I was trying to strike a balance between robustness & accessibility.
