Have you ever experienced "A Day in the Life" performed live by anyone?
"A Day in the Life" from 1967 is the Beatles' biggest production and George Martin's masterpiece. The Beatles would never perform it live, as they had played their last concert in Candlestick Park, San Francisco, in 1966. One reason The Beatles abandoned touring was precisely because of complex productions like "A Day in the Life", which could not be replicated satisfactorily on stage at that time.
Three decades later, The Bootleg Beatles would include it as a concert staple and a highlight of their shows. Also, Jeff Beck took a brilliant instrumental cover of it on the road, with great success in the late nineties and into the noughties. "A Day in the Life" is the sort of thing that should be experienced live. Being mostly a Lennon song, McCartney has never performed it live, as far as I know. And Lennon most certainly didn't either.

I saw Jeff Beck do it, and I saw the '70s/'80s stage musical Beatlemania which included it.
Years ago, some friends and I played somebody's backyard party (sans rehearsal), and a party-goer requested the song. I don't think she was joking. We decided to go for it. It was slapdash, but fun.
I've never actually seen Robyn Hitchcock do it, but there's plenty of recorded evidence, including this rendition:

Sadly I was in the audience for this - he 'performs' his bit
I saw the Bootleg Beatles do it with an orchestra at the Crystal Palace Bowl about 12 years ago too

Its a complete fucking embarassment
Like your pissed up grandad at a wedding
Macca makes a complete cunt of himself and it reflects badly on Neil too.
It is no coincidence that within a matter of years Rick, Peggi and Ben were all dead - from the shame

McCartney played it when I saw him in 2010. It is on Good Evening New York City live album and film from the same tour.

Good heavens, why?
I love the record as much as anyone but have never once thought ... “if only I could see this performed live.”

I don't mean you have to see it live to fully appreciate it, but to me, personally, seeing it live, performed with a full orchestra would be an awesome experience. It is also awesome on record, of course, especially the mono mix. I sold my 87 stereo mix.
By the same token, I wouldn't mind having seen one of those symphonic Beach Boys gigs that Bruce Johnston put together back in the 90s. At any rate, Brian Wilson came close enough on the Pet Sounds tour of 2002, where he had about a dozen musicians on stage.

Of course! Fair enough.

Robyn Hitchcock used to do it solo, leaping between upright piano and accoustic guitar

To brag:
I played the Chord with the few other lads in studio 2 using the original pianos on the recording. Not the full song though.
