Austin pics
Unfortunately, camera was out of commision until Satrurday night due to a rogue SD card, so others will need to fill you in on San Antonio and the barbecue.

Re: Austin pics
How cool ? (that's a rhetorical question for all you smartarse fuckers)
The Driskill. A bit out of everyone's price range hotel wise, but we did visit the bar.
Pillowz, Hatz, Livet, Baron
The very moment they started playing Bob Wills and I remarked to Baron that it didn't get much better than this
Last man standing

Two months ago, I sat in the very chair that Baron is sitting in. James Iha was sitting where Livet is.
And I sat in that very chair occupied by The Baron five years ago.

Our genial host
South Congress is boho heaven
One of the many murals that appear all over town
The ubiquitous grackle
Insert your own...joke...here.
We endorsed the hell out of the Cornell Hurd Band.
The Fish, carrying his large man-purse everywhere he went, never realized how necessary Baron was as bodyguard.
The older section of San Antonio we saw, prior to descending to the River Walk.

I wasn't supposed to take this picture.
They do believe in Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection in Texas, but only insofar as it applies to the Bowie knife.

I encounter a young backwoodsman
Gruene Hall. I would love to have spent a night out at this place. Baron says Los Lobos often play here.
We all took turns putting on the Baron mask.
The young man on the left is Baron's brother Max.

A preview of the eats to come
The Soup Nazi has nothin' on these guys.
At the "big" jolly up
At this point I could have talked these knuckleheads into anything.
A stretch hummer. Texas endorses the hell out of it.
Speaking of talking people into anything, a couple stalwarts joined me in drinking an Irish Car Bomb. Fish had the best technique. Follow the steps:

Re: Austin pics
I was about to embark on a masked crime-fighting career, I was looking for some type of symbol; some idea for a costume that would strike fear into the hearts of criminals. I just couldn't get inspired. But the others persuaded me to go out and look at some fucking bats instead.
Here are some people getting ready to watch them from near the Congress Ave. bridge. We had a better vantage point: a boat with a great view of the bridge as the bats flew out from beneath it.
Downtown as seen from the bat-bridge. In the distance you can see the building that is said to resemble an owl's head to the bats. They say the bats detour to avoid being "seen" by the giant owl-head.
The sign says not to handle grounded bats. A useful instruction to someone like Sambient, who wants to pick up and cuddle every small mammal she sees.
Waiting for the bats and the beautiful sunset.
Told ya!
And now...Release the bats! Bite! Bite!
Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you? We've got some work to do now...

As you can tell, Thesiger was the one who decided to become Batman. Not me.
The Owl Building again
And a romantic scene to close out the evening. And my photos.

Are you kidding? Your "See No Evil" with Rita and Dai is classic. We should make t-shirts with that photo on them!
