Cruel and unnatural punishment

TOTRAR, TYTD is a very poor record.
Surely Songs from the Wood or Heavy Horses would have served better from that era
Complete Ramones Mp3 set on its way

Talking of Tull, Ian Anderson is playing Hong Kong in June and I'm thinking of going but have been put off by some comments on here about his shows particularly his vocal problems. It ain't cheap but it could be my last opportunity to see the guy. He was great the previous two times I saw him in the 80s. Anyone seen his current "plays the very best of Jethro Tull" tour?

We have done this too.

We have gone right through to Crest of a Knave with the exception of This Was and Under Wraps

Perhaps it's time for This Was

Hugely optimistic putting him and his shot vocal chords on in and expecting him to sell out that vast barn of a place, Ray. If he was appearing somewhere like the Cultural Centre in Kowloon of the Academy for the Performing Arts in Wanchai, I might be tempted to go if only for old times sakes (Last time I saw IA and JT was on the HH tour). Heck, even Queen Elizabeth Stadium would be a better venue...

Last time I went to AWE (the Flaming Lips in Nov 10) it took the wife and I around 4 hours to catch a taxi home from the stand outside the venue. The time before that we ended up going back to HK island packed into MTR trains like sardines. Never again...

Well, I bought a ticket anyway (a mid price one). I know the venue is not great and would have much preferred the Cultural Centre, but at least I won't have the travelling problems you had since I live in nearby Tung Chung and can get there and back easy. In fact that was the main reason I decided to go or else I probably wouldn't have bothered.

If you're lucky he'll have a supporting vocalist with him as he did on the TaaB2 tour.

No Martin Barre...supporting vocalist to handle the bits IA no longer can...beginning to sound like a very expensive tribute act...

I just called up and asked what time the show started, and they asked me what time I could come along...

Here, btw, is the seating plan - about 5,000 by my reckoning - don't think he managed to sell that many seats when he was here with MB and the actual Jethro Tull about 15 years ago. TIckets this time around are even more expensive than either Sigur Ros or Linkin Park who are a least vaguely current
