Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 5
A is closer to Camper Van Beethoven doing 'fake ethnic music' than anything prog, but it's winningly short, to-the-point, and a bit goofy.
Couldn't get through B. The annoying voice plus 'serious' music. Yuck.

Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 5
More oddball East/West fusion music (where is all this coming from in this Cup?) versus more Rush.
Rush sounds good as gold, but this time I go with the oddball fusion because novelty goes a long way with me.

A is a crazy thrash metal euro folk hybrid with a disturbing video. I'm not a big fan of this era of Rush, the've gone full blown synth rock, quite like this track though, great playing as usual.

Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 5
A sounded like Michael Nyman going thrash. It had a enough interesting touches to prevent it being just another chugging blast of run of the mill thrash and its brevity worked in its favour.
I like this synthy era of Rush, I think they initially used synths well to add atmosphere before they dominated too much in later years, and the menacing throb and simple keyboard riff on this track really works well with their usual complex math rock arrangements.

B, a risky choice of Rush track from the period when their dabbling with synths dominated their sound.
Wasn't taken in by the quirkiness of the first track.

Alamaailman Vasarat is/are (?) new to me.
A bit of a dog's dinner -perhaps trying to cram a quart in a pint pot...
Anyway, not really for me - good stuff but I didn't warm to it.
The Rush track I know well - it's not my favourite period then again I am not a massive fan so what do I know?
Great tubs (of course)
A really good intro and I have absolutely no problem with Geddy's vocals
Nice, very nice
I am aware some folk may be voting against stuff that is well-trodden. For me it's about what I enjoyed the most.
In this case:

Klezmer-prog. It's more interesting than good but better than the lifeless AOR from Rush.

Love the 3 Mustaphas 3 and Gogol Bordello mash up. Rush present us with a whole new genre. Hypnogogic Prog.

A very close run thing, having enjoyed Alamaailman Vasarat's song quite a lot, but it's just a bit too thrashy for me, plus a bit too klezmeric.

I love everything about A.
'Subdivisions' sounds a lot better than it used to when it was on MTV back in the day.
A deserves my vote this time.
