Re: PC21- Round 5 Match 8
I guess B is more 'proper' prog, but I think I like Thin Lizzy jumping all over the map while trying to figure it out. B is probably 'better' in some kind of technical sense, but even minimalism has to grab you with something other than repetition. It's more assured, but A is more inviting.

Re: PC21- Round 5 Match 8
i like both, but the lizzy track ends up just bass-boppin and gweetarin all over with its freaky self. it's got much more life to it than B, and i do dig B.
(i don't even remember this lizzy album. i come into em a few years later. might need to give it a spin.)

THE Eno Moebius Roedelius album is a corker - a great collaboration
A delightful track choice. Full of music
Good lad/lass
Despite having a 20 minute chat with Phil Lynott at the Lyceum, London in 1971 I struggle with Thin Lizzy.
This track selection seems somewhat odd and not to my taste - is he trying to do a Peter Pressed Rat?
Sorry, my loss I know, but this is my least favourite track of the whole competition - a dog's breakfast methinks.
[I'm not too keen on dog's breakfasts me]
Unlistenable
I'll be amazed if this selection was from a fully-fledged goon...
Easy:

Lynott is taking the piss, isn't he? But not as much as the other 3 electronic chancers.

A rocks but it's clumsy sounding , it's more proggy than i'd associate with Lizzy.
B is alright, heard better though.

I'm not familiar with the debut from Thin Lizzy, and judging from this I'm not in any rush to hear it. It sounds like a failed experiment in trying to find a direction. They got much better.
This gives B an easy ride but It's a wonderful piece anyway and would have got my vote against much stronger opposition.

The Lizzy track did nothing for me, whereas Eno and the lads drew me in and had many gorgeous moments to keep my attention. My only reservation was that it was too short.

WITJ apart I don’t like Thin Lizzy, but then I don’t like ENO or Cluster so this is a real bottom of the barrel match up for me.
At least A does something (not sure what)... B is just nothing.

a - I get the Appel of TL but the guitarist sounds at time he just doing scales like my guitar teacher Mae me play. Also not a fan of the vocals and a bit too rocky for my taste.
B -love this album and the mix of cluster & Eno. I don’t listen to this much anymore but it’s a hem of mine from the 70’s.
B easily
