Both are that busy style of prog I generally don't go for, but both are undeniably impressive. Good Match. Slight edge to

Re: PC21- Round 3 Match 5
Really like both of these a lot - Soft Machine influence abounding in both to my ears - but A is more of a revelation, and B has a few dull spots and a few overly frenetic ones, and as a result it doesn't hang together quite as well.

Yeah A is really good and has that jazzy Soft Machine influence and also has Mellotron. Never heard of them either Italian band from the early 70's?
B is good too but i've heard that before so A.

Aw dang.
Good matchup between a perennial favourite and a band I recently rediscovered via a nice article on BandCamp last month.
Still in that mood...

I'm going for A. I can get with the singing better and I can also get over the Soft Machinisms. B starts off OK but then ends up a slushy, mushy mess.

A is very derivative of Soft Machine - which isn't a bad thing but to my ears.
Sinclair-esque vocals
I enjoyed it.
Supersister, the bunch of Dutch boys, I like a lot I have many of their albums.
The track is from To the Highest Bidder and I know it backwards
Close but not close enough - I enjoyed the new listen

A - I've listened to this album a few times. Nice fusion prog on the long side but kept me entertained. Top drummer and like the violin and guitar mixes.
B- I really only know this album(To the Highe$t Bidder) in supersister's catalog which I really like. Should listen to the other albums .
B rarer pick

Re: PC21- Round 3 Match 5
oh wowww. i LOVE both tracks. this is the happy ticket to admission, people.
(i need me ALL of the instruments. does everyone understand this?)
i'm sorry they can't both win. wunnerful picks.
i'm gonna give it to A, just becuz it was a notch more... well, epic... in its own way, but i still love you, B.

Re: PC21- Round 3 Match 5
Two lengthy tracks with plenty of proggy goodness to get your teeth into. A was a good musical journey with plenty of elements that melded together really well to make a satisfying whole but overall the jazzy flourishes of B win out but enjoyed both of these a lot.

The vocals and violin of A swung it for me. Very close, two very good choices.

Really interesting match, fusiony prog that made my ears prick up, even if they are both on the longish side. B by a neck.

Agreed - two excellent choices. My heart goes out to the loser of this match.

What an awesome pairing!
I've owned this Arti+Mestieri album and its follow-up for eons, they are fun (incidentally, they have the busiest-sounding drummer I'm aware of and he gets on my nerves sometimes, but it's not too bad on this track).
...but I do prefer the Dutch Canterbury progsters today.

Re: PC21- Round 3 Match 5
Didn’t like either of them, far too much Soft Machine shite fusionesque yawny tuneless show off nonsense going on for me. You know, the stuff that got prog a bad rep.
Hard to decide which one I disliked more.
I generally like Dutch prog so I’ll vote B.

I actually hoped for a draw in this match, because I found both picks top-notch.
