I only really dig the DeVaughn, Associates and Meters so B.

Ouch! This is really tough, of the songs I didn't know list A pulls a trump card with Carleen and the Groovers, I've been listening to a lot of funk lately but that's a new one. Really enjoyed Material Issue as well, will have to check them out. William De Vaughn was another new one, fabulous! Rounded off nicely with solid Bo Diddley and Zombies tunes.

List B has a classic Meters track, I don't mind the Associates (my wife is obsessed with the early stuff) though they don't rock my world. Parliament is a solid choice, enjoyed the Macka Fat track a lot and Sabastiana was a good listen but probably doesn't have staying power.

List B would probably get my vote in quite a few other matchups, both lists seem fresh and exciting, but I think A takes this one with some genuine high points and new discoveries (for me).

A

Two grand lists. I'm going to give it to A though. I've long been a fan of that Carleen & The Groovers track and I have a real nostalgic soft spot for Diane.

Both good lists, but i'll go with B for the brilliant Meters tune.

A.

It was pretty damn close, though. Well done to both.

I am happy to agree with Penk here. He's right, of course.

Neither one chose to include Liz Phair and that makes me said.

That being said I have to go with A.

I really don't like either list, but that track is the reason I'm voting for B

Well, the Carleen and the William deVaughn are both great tracks which are new to me, but the Material Issue sticks out like a sore thumb in this company.

The other list doesn't have such clear standouts, but flows better.

Fuck it, William DeVaughn wins this for A
