Two really good fives -well done!
I love everything on B, so that's where my vote is going, but commiserations to A ( Material Issue was the only thing I didn't care for, so 4 out 5 is pretty good going!).

Diane is probably the most convincing (new) track here, but the rest of A is yawn inducing compared to all of...

Both are pretty great. I'll go with A.

B has a couple of tracks I really don't like (including Party Fears 2).

I've heard of three songs in total. I mean, honestly.

Abstain.

Perhaps we should give them a bit more time to come up with something a little more robust...

If only they could pick popular stuff we've all heard of like Human Expression, Mayo Thompson and Art Ensemble of Chicago. ;)

The lists are eclectic, but calling them obscure is just being pigheaded. Most of those artists are perfectly well-known on BCB. The only ones I'd not heard of were Carleen and the Groovers, while Material Issue I'd heard of but not heard before.
I like both lists, both are interesting and sparky, but I think B hits more.
