As at round 4 I haven't put a single Quo track in. probably why I've made it this far.

Mike Boom is some kind of cup genius. Is he the most consistently successful contestant since it started? Quite staggering.

I just hope that I don't get Boomed in the Quarters again this year. Although, last year I recognized his list, this year I can't really tell who anyone is anymore.

edited to say, nope, i just went and had a look. i think i've found mike's list.

I'm not going to vote against his list just because he's Mike Boom. I have no clue which one it is but if I happen to think it's a better list, he gets my vote.

I reckon I know it. I wouldn't fancy meeting it, but then there is only one, maybe two, lists I think I'd have a good chance of beating (neither of which are yours btw).

You know mine? Yeah, maybe it's easier to figure out this year.

As Jeff put it, I wouldn't vote against Mike's because it's Mike's, I'd vote against it if it was against a better list.

Booms list is fairly obvious as he tends to pick the same artists each year.

I wouldn't have known it before this round, but with just 8 left these things get easier to spot (mind you I could be completely wrong! :) ). I'm still not sure that I've managed to differentiate between Pepper and Goat Boy though.

I do think that the winner should at least get a lovely shiny sash to wear, in a Mr/Ms Universe stylee...

We're down to the semi-finalists now:

1. The Modernist
12. Goat Boy
46. Mike Boom
57. BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Regarding the semi finals, I intend to hold these on Sunday. I already have one list, so if the rest of you can get your lists to me before then, that would be great. Then I'll hold the final on Wednesday and announce Mike Boom as the winner on Friday...

I'm glad there are no replays in this round. I'm having a long weekend in Nottingham, including one night of Dutch metal mayhem, so I can enjoy that with worrying about the cup. Marvellous!

Of course, I expected Mike Boom to be there and I'm not really surprised Goat Boy has had a good showing but the other two......

Oh no it's a good thing, Moddy! You and Bleep could be representing the change of the guard. The new canon, the anti-Boom is upon us! Who knows, maybe next year we'll see carlsson and solarskope face off in the finals?

Goat Boy and me have pretty similar tastes as well; you could interchange quite a number of tracks on each list without much trouble.
It does seem a victory of sorts I must say! ;)
