Griff - shouldn't point 6 read 'Apologise to noone'? You know how touchy he gets about these things!

More like a little 'et', don't you think?

I get a lot of comments from people when I'm walking my dog, and one of the most popular ones is "Ooh, she looks like a giant polar bear!". I never say anything, but I always think, "Don't you mean she looks like a tiny polar bear?"

Um, okay.

No, "giant polar bear" is correct. Polar Bears are actually a species of rodent, and in terms of size, are similar to rabbits:

Fascinating!

This is her when she was a regular sized polar bear:

Those boots really compliment your complexion, Harvey. You should wear them more often.

I think it's going to get ugly. There's been a lot of nasty comments directed toward the lists this year so far and I can only imagine how the BR will shape up. We're in for a mean-spirited Cup and that's even without andymacandy playing.

Really? I can't say I've seen anything that untoward. Can you give examples of what you mean?

Belle Lettre wrote:The comments are already of a preciosity to make one puke, I agree.

To be honest those people who have the balls to actually critically comment always put themselves on the line because there's always going to be someone who doesn't agree with those comments. It's easier to just type 'A & B' sure..but how interesting is it to read that? I think comments make the threads more interesting for everyone to read, whether you agree with what's been said or not.

So far I haven't made comments, just cast my votes. I think the good tracks speak for themselves, and the ones I don't know I just ignore, probably a mistake, but I know what I like.

It's impossible to listen to everything you don't know and youtube sampling will never give you a full appreciation, however you're really missing out if you just limit yourself in that way.
Still you're not the only one to think like that. But you should try sampling the odd thing -it might make for some eye-opening leads into different music.

Will do. I benefited from the youtube recommendations in the Shoegazer thread. :)

One of the voters was absolutely right when he said my list was thrown together.
Three months ago I carefully started to compile a list and got as far as the first song.
Late last Sunday night when I already ran on overtime I quickly supplied ten songs.
The Triffids was the only one I really wanted in there.
So, all my own fault.

But. BUT.

Losing against not one but two lists really hurts.
Especially since list C is just about the lowest common denominator and therefor is bound to go far.

There. I said it.
