Plymouth

Postby Brickyard Jack » 09 Aug 2020, 21:19

Just spent a couple of weeks in the jewel of the southwest.
What a great place Plymouth is - jammed between Dartmoor and the sea. It is true the city centre is faded, but even so there is so much on offer.
We went sailing, hiked 12 miles of the Two Moors Way, sat drinking on the waterfront, swam in the lido, went to the beach - fabulous.
The view of Plymouth Sound from the Hoe is glorious.

I spent a year posted there alongside the Navy at Stonehouse. Great place. At one point I was banned from every pub on the Barbican. Is Captain Jaspers still there?

It is indeed.
My sister lives in Stonehouse, so we go there regularly.
