Post something you've learnt today

Bobby Fischer wrote a letter to Bin Larden

Dear Mr. Osama bin Laden allow me to introduce myself. I am Bobby Fischer, the World Chess Champion. First of all you should know that I share your hatred of the murderous bandit state of "Israel" and its chief backer the Jew-controlled U.S.A. also know [sic] as the "Jewnited States" or "Israel West." We also have something else in common: We are both fugitives from the U.S. "justice" system.

it's on wiki which might not mean much but as far as i know it's real and considering some of the anti-semetic and anti-american stuff he came out with it's not surprising. He was cock-a-hoop when 9/11 happened as you can hear in this

I also learnt that some people can go online without their sense-of-humour gene.

I learned, thanks to QI, that there's such a thing as space lawyers. Basically if any debris hits a satellite and it can be traced, the owner of the debris can be sued. How they trace it i simply don't know.

Peter Wyngarde says the line 'An obscure body in the SK system, your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet Earth. How peaceful it looks.' in The Orb's Earth (gaia).

Mexican hot chocolate appears to be what we would call 'an acquired taste'.

It certainly gives a novel twist to fly tipping. I've got an old satellite box and hi-fi I want rid of. Sending them up in space seems an excellent idea if I can find a way of circumnavigating the lawyers.

It's the best thing ever! My daughter, who generally has an aversion to anything spicy ( :( ), finds this to be one of her favorite flavors at the gelateria down the street from our house.

Wilfred Brambell recorded a song abut the Beatles break up called Time marches on.
Also acc. to wiki he was 'openly derogatory towards New Zealands cathedrals'.
and he was arrested for cottaging in 1962!!
