Double Diamond, once one of the most popular beers in Britain, is set to return to British boozers after a nearly 30-year hiatus.
Known for its classic pale ale flavour, it was a staple across UK pubs and one of the best-selling beers in the country.
The drink’s bright red and yellow logo with two large D’s was almost as famous as its TV slogans: ‘Double Diamonds works wonders’ and ‘You’re only here for the beer.’

I remember my dad saying that it was gnat’s water - or words to that effect.
I remember the ads but never tried it.

Awful stuff.
On a par with Watneys Red, Worthington E and Whitbread Tankard IIRC.
Fortunately I discovered Burtons, Courage Directors Bitter and Brakspears as a 19 yo so didn’t suffer them for long.

Yes terrible stuff
This was pre- CAMRA though...
Do you remember these:
My brother Martin texted me this to remind me:
Yeah. I remember your con: Take one to a party, open it (with a can opener) upside-down, drink it, and take it along to the next party.
Sound economics methinks!

I think we had a special tap that clamped on to these turning them in to little kegs.

We, up North, had this horror. The local brewery, Greenhall Whitley, introduced us to the joys of "authentic" German lager

The pub where we do a music quiz have it on tap. I was thinking about getting a pint last week but I chickened out.
