A lot of tributes here to our sadly departed friend. (Just hit the translate button.)

I would if I knew which one it is?

Lord?

Didn’t realise he was only 61, I thought by the way he talked and some of his music preferences he was much older, well into his 70s. 61 seems very young to me.

I know he'd talked about his own mortality on occasion but it still comes as a surprise.
RIP Googa.

such sad news. i send condolences to his friends and family.

i was always rather fond. we got into it a few times, but i've gotten into it with everyone on this board at one time or another, mwhaha. we also bonded over some things. he truly loved a lotta music. that's the great connector, aint it?

r.i.p. googa.

Well, I think the option to translate will be in there somewhere. Different places for different browsers. Hunt around and you should find it eventually. Or Google to help I guess. (On mine it was already showing “Translate this page?” when I opened it.)

Thanks .. this is the first post.

"The legendary alias, Googamooga, is now forever silenced. The alias that in reality was Søren Kjellberg - an unusual person and a comics enthusiast, a fan, a friend, an advocate for the medium and a king of Serieland.

Googa was affected by terminal cancer and his body could do no more in the end. He also had Asberger's - but managed to influence the comics industry and knew most Danish publishers, despite his life's many challenges. I have had many - many conversations with him - and we found a way through communication - which he found best, and found satisfactory. I am quoting his brother - who wrote the following today:

All - this is the brother of Soren posting the last post on his facebook - his dying wish was that I send out a message about his passing away and that we thank everyone one for support - he loved going on facebook - it was a channel for him to explore and share his passion for Popular Culture and connect with friends and family. Thank you from Soren. And god bless him.

***The rest of the first post is in English****

Thanks for that. He was clearly quite involved in that community.

And we finally get to see what he looked like..

This is incredibly sad. I didn't know he was ill. I think BCB was very import to him as a means of being able write about the things he was passionate about. He will be missed.

Doesn't say on the FB post, but I'd be pretty certain he'll be the guy on the right and the bearded guy is the father of the kid in the middle.

You think? I'd put money on it being the fella on the left.

I, too assumed Googs was on the left, but who knows? Someone must know. I thought the chap on the right looked like he could have played a corrupt politician in Wallander

RIP, Googs.

I bet the thrift stores in heaven are just STACKED with rare Beach Boys and James Last discs, and they're all for 50p each. Happy hunting, man.

Sad to hear this. He could certainly frustrate with his starting threads that really had no legs for any prolonged discussion (I've scratched my Bonnie Pointer being a classic example) But despite being his own worst enemy at times, it wasn't hard to appreciate his undoubted love of music and wide ranging taste and in that regard he was very much one of us. Of course it isn't. Googa slet it be known many times that he was bearded and overweight. Deffo him on the left of that picture.

You don't know that for sure. I still reckon it's the guy on the right.
