On GMB, teen Ameican asked to comment. Her response was "Well, One Direction won't be reforming in the near future". Say it like it is.

RIP John Prescott
BBC:
Former Labour Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has died aged 86
His family said he died peacefully on Wednesday to the sound of jazz music at his care home, where he had been living with Alzheimer's
Tony Blair says he's devastated, telling the BBC there was "no-one quite like him in British politics", and recalling the moment he punched someone in the 2001 election campaign
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Keir Starmer calls him a "true giant of the Labour movement"
The former trade union activist served in Blair's government for 10 years, and held his Kingston upon Hull East seat in Parliament for almost 40 years

Terry Griffiths aged 77 - Welsh snooker player
A former postman and bus conductor, Griffiths turned professional in 1978 and became world champion at the first attempt, beating Dennis Taylor in the 1979 World Championship final.
"From being a miner at 15 years of age in Pontarddulais, then I was a bus conductor and a postman and then went on to work in insurance. Next thing I was champion of the world”. Griffiths once recalled.
RIP

Ah, those halcyon days when you actually could name snooker players. Always came across a rather shy man, but one hell of a player. Pity he was around when you had to be better than "one hell of a player". R.I.P. Terry.

I still follow snooker - I've just finished watching an enthralling final of the UK Championships between Judd Trump and Barry Hawkins
I can name by sight at least the present top 16 players.
Remember Big Bill Werbeniuk...?
He was noted for the copious amounts of alcohol he consumed before and during matches – at least six pints before a match and then one pint for each frame. In total, he drank between 40 and 50 pints of lager per day.
Doctors advised Werbeniuk to drink alcohol to counteract a familial benign essential tremor (!) Later in his career he also took propranolol, a beta blocker, to cope with the effects of his alcohol consumption on his heart.
Werbeniuk was reported to have successfully claimed the cost of 6 pints of lager before every match as a tax deductible expense.
Some of Werbeniuk's alleged feats of drinking include: 76 cans of lager during a game with John Spencer in Australia in the 1970s; 43 pints of lager in a snooker match/drinking contest against Scotsman Eddie Sinclair in which, after Sinclair had passed out following his 42nd pint, Werbeniuk was reported to say "I'm away to the bar now for a proper drink"; 28 pints of lager and 16 whiskies over the course of 11 frames during a match against Nigel Bond, in January 1990 – after which Werbeniuk then consumed an entire bottle of Scotch to "drown his sorrows" after losing the match
They don't make 'em like that anymore

Re: The Generic RIP thread
In 1985 Stevens admitted that he was "helplessly addicted" to cocaine. "If you've ever had it you want it again," he explained. "There are times when vodka's not enough." From then on he was struggling, albeit with intermittent success, against decline until he could not face the stresses of the circuit any more.
Aggressive in style, engaging in manner, he seemed the white knight charging into battle, putting down the blacks - and, for the 147, the ultimate black - but the image hid an inner turmoil which had been building since his sister suffered burst veins from drug abuse and his mother was killed in a fire caused by arson. For several nights he sat with a shotgun waiting for he knew not who.
Wow ....talk about a man with demons

Yes, I was aware Kirk was a coke addict
If the ‘triangle’ line was original - well done- very amusing
In fact, it’s still amusing if you nicked it from elsewhere

Yes, your subconscious mind probably brought it forth on cue.
