He looks like the kind of guy who'd be more than happy to introduce little kids to his fingers.

RIP Yoffy.

Very much the Syd Barrett of early '70s British kids' TV.

Dropped off the radar after his stellar performance in Fingerbobs - the affable turtlenecked exterior cloaked a heart of darkness maybe.

Lost the plot and attacked and destroyed Fingermouse in a fit of rage apparently.

Later turned up to a recording of Jackanory fat, bald(er), wasted with no eyebrows, looking lost... I may have made that one up.

RIP Rick - an important part of my childhood.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Yes - me too. I’d watch in awe. I was crazy about the seagull and used to search the house for things to make finger puppets with. Bog roll tubes always featured heavily. I wasn’t very good at making animals so I’d make puppets of people I knew- like the man who ran the newsagent :D

What a joy the whole programme was.

I won't post a link to The Daily Express but half way down the page they have a picture of Johnny Ball captioned."Rick Jones, the presenter of 1970's show fingerbobs"

I saw that too. It had me scratching my head wondering if Johnny Ball had died too. He hasn't.

Loved Fingerbobs. Never heard Meal Ticket.
