Nick Kamen RIP

Postby Positive Passion » 05 May 2021, 19:35

A "singer" who troubled the charts briefly, but is most famous for the "I heard it through the grapevine" advert for
Levis on TV. It is amazing to remember what an impact those ads had - everyone was talking about them, and for a couple of years a new one was an event.

That Levis ad where he stripped to his boxers made roughly 1.7 million gays come out of the closet. Per day.

I was a bit sad to hear the news. He was only 59.
Obviously, I'm not a big fan of the music, I'm not sure I've actually heard any of it for that matter, but I've got nothing against the guy. And fighting bone marrow cancer for years and dying young is a shit way to end your life.

RIP Nick.
Bugger off.

It's still a big closet. Those things don't shrink when people get out.
He was some sort of Madonna protege. I heard about it on the radio when they announced his death and played his 2 hit singles. One is written by Madonna, the other one I don't know. It sounds horrible to my ears. Still, a terrible way to go, Sad news.
