Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
So, It’s Walz.
A true progressive.
Supports free school meals and college education for low income families.
Supports legalising marijuana.
Supports abortion rights.
Supports the fight against unpaid medical bills impacting negatively on credit scores.
Signed legislation that bans medical providers from withholding necessary care due to unpaid debt.
Supports full LGBTQ equal rights.
Supports climate action.
Signed legislation that guaranteed paid family and medical leave for workers.
Can’t wait for the Reps to attack on these issues and his past record as most of these are hugely popular policies outside of Trump’s base.
Seems like a pretty good pick to me.

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
he is a fantastic pick. oh yes.
jd vance has been trying to fake being exactly what walz really is. great legislative record. veteran. educator. coach. dad joke guy. unafraid and REAL. what a contrast to the GOP.
the trumpers are flailing even more. they just cannot deal with it. you get the same dumb, vague buzzwords involving "radical left communist socialist" crap.
did you see the rally just now in philly, shapiro, harris and walz? everybody should go take a look. i am tellin ye, off the damn charts.
walz: "and i got to tell you, i can't wait to debate the guy. that is if he's willing to get off the couch and show up."
ohhhhh. fantastic.
trump himself is having a breakdown. seriously. his (for-lack-of-a-better-word) brain is so broken... ooof. it was already obvious that he was obsessed with biden, unable to adapt to harris, running around with his (for-lack-of-a-better-word) hair on fire. today, he just went off on this crazy rant where he was claiming some weird conspiracy that joe is behind the scenes, pulling strings, will pull off another coup and retake the white house!!! get back what was stolen from him! (a paraphrase of blithering gibbershit).
that's how fucqued he is, how much he wants it to be biden, he neeeds it to be biden. just fucquin insane. and he's only gonna get worse. i've said it before, but his team is gonna try to hide him as much as possible.
this is all crazy good. good doesn't even cover it. it is wonnnnnderful. (and we have the convention next. possibly a mini-trial with chutkin. sentencing.)
i got happy feets. i can't stop em.

Decent fellow. Very good pick, strategically. I doubt it will win over many souls down South, but with a bit of luck he can be a decisive factor in some of the rust belt states, which is going to be essential. He reminds me of the late great John McCain, the only Republican candidate in my lifetime I could have voted for (and probably would have, if not for Obama).

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
Trump's latest rant about Biden wanting to take back the nomination is priceless - he wishes! Fantasy land stuff.
It's hard to fathom what this was meant to achieve - it's not really an attack on anyone, it's just, well.... really weird.
Flailing, failing, desperate and unhinged.
“I HEAR THERE IS A BIG MOVEMENT TO ‘BRING BACK CROOKED JOE.
What are the chances that Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST President in the history of the U.S., whose Presidency was Unconstitutionally STOLEN from him by Kamabla, Barrack HUSSEIN Obama, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Shifty Adam Schiff, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and others on the Lunatic Left, CRASHES the Democrat National Convention and tries to take back the Nomination, beginning with challenging me to another DEBATE. He feels that he made a historically tragic mistake by handing over the U.S. Presidency, a COUP, to the people in the World he most hates, and he wants it back, NOW!!!"

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
Wow, one would have thought he might have realised that calling into question Harris’ blackness at the NABJ conference wasn’t such a great way of winning the important black votes, but now here he is claiming (incorrectly, not that that’s important) that on Jan 6th 2021 he had a bigger crowd than MLK had for his “I have a dream” speech.
And to keep calling Harris “dumb” is pathetic. He badly needs new material and a new approach but can only operate on that one crass level, which in the new game just isn’t going to work.

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
If the elections were held today, he'd still win. How scary is that? The main reason is inflation. Groceries etc have become outrageously expensive. The current government gets the blame. One of the causes is the implementation of import tariffs by the former leadership though. The exporters aren't paying for it, but we are. The price of a regular size tin of caviar has risen by 83% since 2016. I don't know how we're going to cope...

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
Apart from cognitive issues, there’s a fair chance he is going insane, his brain eaten up with jealousy, fear and paranoia.
His latest post:
“Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she ‘A.I.’d’ it, and showed a massive ‘crowd’ of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST! She was turned in by a maintenance worker at the airport when he noticed the fake crowd picture, but there was nobody there, later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish on the Vice Presidential Plane,” Trump wrote. “She’s a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the ‘crowd’ looked like 10,000 people! Same thing is happening with her fake ‘crowds’ at her speeches. This is the way the Democrats win Elections, by CHEATING.”

It's amazing how flat-footed Trump and camp were caught with the switch to Kamala Harris. Now Trump thinks his best strategy is to wish Biden back into the race, apparently,

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
Gotta love the fact that it was Trump who pushed for an early debate with Biden.
If he hadn't done that, and had instead mirrored the 2020 debate schedule (where the 1st one was 29th September) it is 99.9% certain that Biden would have been the Dem nominee in November 2024.
A recent article in The Rolling Stone somewhat gleefully imagined that eating Trump up with him likely ruing it as being the "biggest fcuking mistake of his life".
What with that, plus his regular brain glitches, constant lies and unhinged rants on social media illustrating obvious paranoia about everything Harris and Walz are doing, one wonders whether he'll actually make it to November or just succumb to a full-on nervous or mental breakdown before then.

i keep saying he's just gonna get worse and worse. oooof.
did y'all hear any of that "interview" with musk? it's always the same now with trump. broken tape loops in his brain, spliced together randomly. gibbershit. (musk is just as much of a psycho brat, but without the dementia and tertiary syphilis on top of the natural born dumb. he's got time to catch up.)
i for one am enjoying watching the collapse of the walking orange pustule in real time, mwhaha. there's gonna be some desperate, bonkers shit ahead. everybody break out the hazmat suits and trank guns.

I’m not always sure about Jon Stewart - loves himself a little too much for me at times.
But this (on Trump struggling to come to terms with no Biden) is very amusing, and on point.

Re: Former President Donald J. Trump
What is everyone's theory on why Trump has been off the campaign trail? I figured he knew he didn't have the energy for non-stop campaigning so figured to wait until after the DNC for a final "sprint" to the finish. Some are theorizing now that he had a stroke, evidenced by his slurring during the Musk interview. He absolutely would cover up a major health setback, which would be a death knell for his chances at this point, but I still think it's just a case of regrouping and recharging.

What does anyone think would happen if he has to pull out or, heaven forfend, cark it?
Presumably the Project 2025 people would pounce and put forward another fascist (they don't seem to be in short supply), but would the rest of the Republican party accept that? There seems to be a feeling that a lot of the right wing nuttery is expressed largely out of fear that Trump will take horrible revenge on anyone who crosses him so he everyone visibly supports him. But with him out of the way would they try to build another Trump, fight over which of them was to be the new Trump, look for something more traditional or dissolve into infighting and anarchy.
I suspect the latter and I'd love to find out.
Bugger off.

I'm not so sure about that. Who the fuck knows what goes on in that brain but as he gets more and more rattled I actually think there's a chance he will drop out over a real or made-up / exaggerated health issue, just so he won't be seen as a 2 time loser. And he might think it gives him more chance of staying out from behind bars, which is probably an even bigger fear than losing again.
If he can't turn the tide pretty quickly, he's got some big decisions to make about how best to save his skin, that's for damn sure.

i think he's a huge, toxic mess on every level we could name. i'm part of a group that has been monitoring every public appearance of him for years, and he has manifested significant neuro probs for a long time, including signs of mini-strokes, gait and stance problems, right eye probs, the list is very, very long. that's all before the musk interview, which was awful.
trump doesn't wear dentures. he gets new veneers every 18 months, so his display of slurring and lisping is not from dentures or lack thereof. he has one of those... i have no idea what ya call it... when you get an insert prosthesis for the nasal septum area disintegrated from decades of drug use. (maybe someone else knows the technical name.) the removal or shifting of that could definitely explain some of his sound problems, but if i had to guess, i would chalk it up to mini-strokage *and* being drugged out of his gills (all the sniffing he does is an indication of that.) he often has chunks of... er... something... flying out of his mouth at regular intervals. whatever it is, it's pretty fucquin gross. he also regularly shows signs of IV treatment, which could be, well, anything.
i think he has a med team which pumps him up with many wonderful and, um, performance-changing drugs. (which is why he kept accusing biden of that. always a projection and a confession.) his worsening dementia is obvious, which is reason enough to explain his lack of campaigning. his vocab has been reducing and babifying noticeably for a few years, along with other dementia markers (like perseveration, confabulation, aphasia, pronounced repetition, etc.) his gait probs have also gotten worse, and in some pics, he is clearly wearing a brace on that right leg, the one he anchor-swings around often.
by the time of the convention, trump and the GOP were sure they had the election in the bag and all they had to do was ride it out, which is where you wanna be if you have a disintegrating candidate who probably should be under forced psychiatric and medical evaluation. but biden dropping and kamala entering... trump still can't adapt to biden being out of the race. he is too old, fucqued up and addle-brained to adapt to much of anything. kamala's crowd sizes have clearly thrown him in a major way. his obsessions and delusions with crowd size have gone overboard. at his core, he's a snivelling coward. for all his fake ego bluster, i think kamala outperforming him and the assassination attempt also caused fear, a fear he will never admit. he is terrified and freaking on many levels. all sorts of ways to describe that when it comes to the patterns of narcissism and narcissistic collapse.
so, when it comes to lack of campaigning, i'm gonna go with all of the above, mwhahaha. i've been saying they will hide him more and more as he gets worse and worse, but what a fucquin mess he truly is.
(by the way, he has added a date in north carolina~~funny, how many states he thought were givens are now not so much~~but the NC folk made him pay up over 80,000 he had stiffed them for before, and he paid it. mwhahaa. the arena is like a 2,500 seater. he neeeds it to be packed. he needs it to *look* packed. his ego panic is palpable and glorious.)
there are some people who are convinced that the billionaires behind vance are just waiting for the chance to swap trump out. he's a place-marker, a stooge, a patsy. i'm not a conspiracy theory type, but it makes logical sense to assume that getting to the white house is the goal and trump himself is not necessarily on the priority list. he is the ticket to power.
i will say i am not so sure trump is easily replaceable to the MAGAts... that they would easily transfer their dear-leader worship to some other guy. but they are stupid and into their own empowerment, so who knows. there are some culters who will walk away when thulsa dumb goes down. regardless, when he loses, everything he represents will also lose a lotta steam, and the ripple effects of that will be fun to watch.
one thing is undeniable. part of being unable to adapt has always plagued trump. instead of coming up with any strategy to win over new voters, trump and the GOP have tripled down on the extremist, hateful crap. all he can do is bleed voters, and his base is ever-shrinking, however loudly they squawk and flail. even if trump were in tip top shape, it's a recipe for self-destruction. and he's in complete meltdown shape.

Well, yeah and yeah. Many of his enablers in positions of power clearly have seen him as a useful tool and an utter fool from the beginning. I'm sure most of those would happily swap him out for JD Vance, but do you see the Republican ticket being reinvigorated after the old guy steps down similar to what happened with the Democratic ticket? I don't. More traditional Republican voters will be relieved to see him go and Vance might have some youth appeal (if not much else), but that rabid MAGA base would probably by and large rapidly lose interest in the election.
