'The Immortal Trump'

My dog has done a few of these. Can clear a room in seconds. And she still looks like butter wouldn't melt.

Wonderful news about the search warrant.

A state judge will sign any old shit, but DOJ/FBI would not pursue a search warrant against an ex-president lightly, and a federal judge would sure as hell make sure it all added up before signing off on it.

It means all those parties agreed that probable cause exists to believe that they would find evidence of a crime in the place described by the warrant. Again, that doesn't normally mean much to me, but this is huge.

Presumably, we'll know more soon, but this seems most likely to relate to claims that he unlawfully took official White House record with him and concealed them at his place in Florida.

Also, tune in to right wing media tonight to learn why we must defund the police!

Of course, Kevin McCarthy is quoted this morning about how they're going to investigate the FBI and Merrick Garland if they take the House back in November. I keep forgetting about all the bad faith investigations and grandstanding we'll have to suffer if the R's take back the house. Among other things. Ugh.

Very funny Lord.
I sure hope the FBI comes up with something incriminating before they get defunded by Marjorie Taylor-Greene.
If this is just a storm in a teacup it could be devastating for the Democrats. They better get it right this time!
And just wait for some fuckwit bringing up Hillary's private server.

Trump spends an entire four hour deposition pleading the fifth - something innocent people do all the time, of course - then reiterates that he's done nothing wrong and this is a witch hunt:

Funny, I would have thought that, just to support Trump, Giulianni would have cleaned out all the fifths that were lying around by now. Oh well.

It’s all so weird. I do wonder WTF his motive / plan was for taking these papers home with him. He knew it was against the law - which of course he has always believed he is above - but how could he gain from it?

To hide incriminating stuff? Unlikely, surely he’d just shred / incinerate / flush down the bog....

Insurance policy / blackmail potential if he felt he ever needed it to raise money? Or counteract moves against him if the shit really hit the fan?

To sell to highest bidders if needed?

I’m sure the list is long - what else? He is a dumb cunt in many many ways but he’s also a very smart / slippery criminal who wouldn’t just break the law by taking classified papers home with him without a purpose.

A Watergate lawyer said having Top Secret documents at your home (whoever you are) is akin to having child pornography on your computer - there are no extenuating circumstances.... “he is going to jail”.

I would actually pay money to make that happen.

And who is the mole? I’m plumping for Jared Kushner.

So, should his title be changed from "Former President Trump" to "Future Prisoner Trump"? He would be the best prisoner the country has ever seen I'm sure.

Someone in the news media suggested the mole could be a secret service agent which makes sense.

Fox News air an image of the judge who issued the Trump warrant photoshopped next to Ghislaine Maxwell

It was a joke apparently.

And now Trump is claiming that the FBI stole three of his passports during the raid. Poor soul.

You don't need a passport to get into Hell do you?

It was however only after the feds contacted Trump’s people to arrange their collection that he started to bleat about it.

And why does he still have a diplomatic passport?

One (Good?) thing DT has done is a kind of ultimate stress testing of the system/constitution.

It needs work.
