Wow you found my boat, last I heard it was sailing to find the northwest passage.

I woke up on this Saturday morning with the NEED to make zucchini bread. I add walnuts, raisins and a few peanut butter and chocolate chips. Trying three sizes just for kicks; a loaf, a couple of mini-loaves and muffins. Good thing that stuff freezes really well, else I might turn into zucchini myself by the end of the week.

For the first time in about 40 years I’m going to have a Pot Noodle for lunch. I can’t wait!

Your crumpet angel was watching over you.

On another note, I woke up to the smell of rain which is a rare occurrence in the summer. I just laid in bed a while just to enjoy it. We just came off a four day run of 100-104F weather so it was extra delicious. It was just enough to wet the ground but still a delight.

There was a woman on the plane the other day and on the back of her arm she had a tattoo saying "Lives Matter." She didn't look like a dick, but it seemed like it had the potential to be a dickish thing. I spent so much of the flight ( I was sat behind her) thinking - is she a dick? I guess I will never know.

I had my 'flu jab this morning at 9am at the local pharmacy which was nice and whilst strolling back homeward I passed two senior Rastafari who were talking about "crucifying gentiles". I know one of them, he's lived there for years and smokes in the front garden and they both gave me beaming smiles.
Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

My trip back to the UK was sensational. My folks have moved fairly near a train line and just by the canal, so if you want to go to the next town, you can walk along the canal or get a quick train or bus. They are within walking distance of my sister, and all sorts of chippies, pubs, shops, restaurants- it's changed their life in a pretty dramatic way. Their old place had wonderful views but was up on the moors and totally isolated and windswept. Now, my stepmum can walk to wherever she wants and has total freedom. The weather was gorgeous while we were there and I got a huge surge of longing to be living there again, which is something I rarely to never feel. Of course, I need to remember that I had all that time off and if I was living there now I would be moaning about the fucking weather and having to work crazy hours and couldn't spend all day pootling along the canal to see art galleries and whatnot. Still, I don't know whether it was just the long time since returning but I have never seen the UK with such rose tinted spectacles. All my nieces and nephews have grown into such adorable adults too- in the blink of a fucking eye. I'm going to make a point of trying to get there way more often - not that the current absence was planned or owt.

I met up with a wee girl today who's now 5. Nearly a year since I last saw her due to covid. She's now started school and is doing fantastic. Lots of big hugs when we left and lots of silence in the car home.

Watching Orangutan Jungle School, which shows care and rehabiltation of orphaned orangutans. They're brought inside to sleep and feed, but then transported outside. Thanks to the method of transportation, I can confirm there is no cuter sight on earth than a wheelbarrow full of baby orangutans.
