Never had the pleasure but have vague reminiscences of his humour in the old Mojo days. Sad to lose another from the fold.

Rest in Peace, and sincere condolences to his family, and to all his friends, real and virtual.
He's a simpleton. 200 years ago they wouldn't have let him milk a cow.

I remember his name, and some postings, from Mojo.

Condolences to his family and friends.
Know what really makes me mad? They clean me with a Brillo pad...

I hate to point this out, but you know what they say: "these things always come in threes'

Let's hope not... :(

Lots of musicians have passed away recently and now two BCB'ers in a row.

I do remember the name but we never met or PM'd.

Rest in Peace.

I'm stunned and shocked. I remember him from Mojo where he was always very friendly and funny.

Rest In Peace, David.

I remember him vaguely from Mojo. His name did crop up at various London JU's though.

Very sad - my sincere condolences to his family.

Fare well.

Duncan told me last night about his passing and I was too shocked to post anything till now. Been thinking about him all last night and today. We had quite a few pm conversations at Mojo about life and love and the Durannies.

He was a sweet man.

RIP Mr. Slater´s Parrot, you are missed.

I think he was on the first montage, wasn't he? I've lost my copy of that.

The montage appearance he made was from the time we met up in N'awlins. My picture in that montage I was seated at the same table, off to one side.
I've heard that Liverpool Football Club are sending a letter of condolance to his kids and grandkids. He was a lifelong supporter of that team, so had a pretty good last year from what I've heard.
I have been told he died of a stroke (I think that's how you translate "spontaneous brain haemorage" into American) in his sleep. Not such a bad way out, like the story goes: "I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather...

...not screaming in terror like his passengers."

I didn't get a chance to know him, regrettably, but I wish him and his family peace.
