Well that sounds good!

Am I the only one who's admitting to having watched Bridgerton?

Possibly. What did you make of it?

There's a lot of hype around Bridgerton and that's probably the main reason why I haven't bothered. Is it worth it?

It's really stupid but I loved the first half of it. It goes downhill after a bit but it's loads of fun for a while.
It looks great and I think it manages to avoid being twee by not taking itself too seriously.

I recommend giving it a go. You could well find it awful but you might, as I was, be pleasantly surprised.

We watched half of it. It was alright but there's much better stuff to watch and not enough time.

It is, but I was really pissed off when it ended in the middle of the bloody story. Somehow, I hadn't known that was going to happen. And we're going to have to wait ages for the next half of the story.

Apparently, the next 5 are completed, so it least there won't be hold up because of Covid. I hate it when Netflix say "coming soon", and, invariably, it's months

Fascinating, if somewhat contrived. Now on iPlayer.

There's a lot of information and fascinating facts... but at the end of the day, I haven't a clue what the point is it's trying to make!

All 6 episodes watched and one thing I will say is that the soundtrack is fantastic. Headless Heroes, Cigarettes After Sex, Skeeter Davis, Lua and ending with Natural’s Not In It by Gang Of Four.

Hurrah!

I think it have to be one of the ladies to say that though. It's the kind of programme that makes all the blokes on here come over all Johnny Fartpants.

I'd rather have a nest of Amazonian fire ants in my underpants than have to watch that crap!

That sort of thing.

Yes, well, they don't get satire.

Just finished The Stand. Despite all the quibbles and criticisms from long-term book fans, me included, it wasn't bad at all. As my co-watcher said, if you look at it as a "greatest hits of The Stand" it works.

And you see Alexander Skarsgård's bum twice.

A bit like The Shawshank Redemption but without all the elements that made The Shawshank Redemption a great film.

"It's all gone wrong" would be a good summary!

Beyond that, there was no clear point that I could make out. There is more than element of the charlatan about Curtis, that he is pulling the wool over our eyes. As a "documentary" it's a failure, but they do make for a fascinating and provocative watch.
