I love Vera

Vera season 14 will be shown in spring 2025 on ITV1 and ITVX. All previous 13 series of Vera are currently available for streaming on ITVX in the UK and on BritBox in the US.

Any other fans?

No, was being too facetious. For what it is, a well acted, relatively mild Sunday evening crime drama, Vera is as good as any. Brenda is excellent as the lead, the scenery generally stunning, and the writing never less than good

Used to watch but it’s completely formulaic, got bored watching it.

Try Grace, that’s slightly better.

Stories not bad but what the **** with the John Simm accent? You can't do "posh", John, just stick to Leeds

Great stuff and how it makes me want to visit Northumbria!
The only peeve is with well known southern actors playing northern roles with gratingly inauthentic accents: I guess they ran out of contenders.

A number of the cast were in Chernobyl including the chief miner and the late Paul Ritter. David Leon, Vera's first bagman, is mightily easy on the eye as is Kingsley Ben-Adir who recently earned good reviews starring in the biopic Bob Marley: One Love
Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.
