Yes, I watched it last night I enjoyed it

Based on a true story from released secret Churchill files in 2016.

Real people although, I am sure, nothing like they were portrayed in the film…!

Unlike the movies that brought the pairing to international fame, neither one is a spaghetti western. (If you haven't seen any of their movies and don't mind spaghetti westerns, I'd recommend starting with They Call Me Trinity or its follow-up Trinity Is Still My Name.)

Comic strip stuff on a par with The A Team, no?

I never actually watched The A Team, so I can't make the comparison. Pretty silly, though.

Unknown - Liam Neeson a psychological thriller

The narrative centres around a professor who wakes up from a four-day long coma and sets out to prove his identity after no one recognises him, including his own wife, and another man claims to be him.

Released on 18 February 2011

I enjoyed it

I watched Taken 3 last night, it got savaged by the critics but i enjoyed it  Poor Kimmie is now up the duff and step dad Stuart, now played by Dougray Scott, is in debt to a seriously nasty Russian mob and is now a villain.

Yes, good fun

I watched Free State of Jones last night, based on a true story and real characters

American Civil War and onwards

I didn’t know about ‘apprentices’

A tough watch in parts

Not all action - far from it, but poignant

Excellent

The Kingsman, slighly light hearted but plenty of action - Netflix or Prime can't remember which one.

If you want non-stop killing and action try Extraction and Extraction 2. Netflix

Punisher - the film, from 2004, with John Travolta and Thomas Jane is good fun and worth watching if you haven't already done so

Based on the Marvel character

I'm sure Stephen has seen Die Hard and the early Lethal Weapon movies - they're entertaining, at least. I enjoyed the Fast & Furious films until they became a parody of themselves. I don't know how far you want to go back, but the original (1974) Die Hard and Dirty Harry pictures were great.

Depends on what you call an action film too. The first two Terminators are superb, so are the first two Mad Max movies with Gibson. The remake with Tom Hardy was good as well. All of those movies could be called sci-fi or apocalyptic too. Westerns are good to scratch your macho itch. Try The Unforgiven, The Wild Bunch, or The Magnificent Seven.

And closer to home, there's always tried-and-trues like Michael Caine in Get Carter, A Clockwork Orange, or even something fun like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch. Nor really 'action' films, but close enough. The pacing could pass for action at least.

All great films and I’ve seen them all except Clockwork Orange. I think I would find the sexual assault scene too distressing

Max Max was one I struggled with - I’m not that keen on Mel Gibson nor that aggressive futuristic scene. I don’t think I saw the second and thereafter

The Dirty Harry stuff is super…. Punk

Clint plays a very old drugs mule in a film I saw recently- that is very good

The Mule on Netflix

US Marshals (1998)- Netflix. Tommy Lee Jones (of Men in Black fame) and Wesley Snipes

Most of you have probably watched it but I hadn’t and I really enjoyed it

A good thriller- action but no over the top stuff and a pacey, at times amusing, police drama

Unequivocally recommended

Justice on Netflix

A Polish film - very understated

A discharged police officer is given a chance to regain his former life by capturing a bank robbery crew. Teaming up with a young policewoman, the ex-cop must act swiftly before the heist draws unwanted scrutiny from the new authorities.

I reckon it is set in the early 90s - certainly after The Polish People's Republic was dissolved following the Revolution of 1989 - there's a couple of references to Solidarność

[I see Lech Wałęsa is still with us (81)]

English overdubs

I really enjoyed it
