Hitler: The Lost Tapes of the Third Reich [2023] (C4 on demand)

Postby C » 26 Jun 2024, 12:40

Six episodes

It is excellent- digitised images and photos not seen before from Hitler’s personal photographer Heinrich Hoffman

The rise and fall from 1912.

I learnt a lot. Hoffman clearly played a large part in promoting the carefully choreographed image of Hitler

The still photos, which are analysed in depth, are phenomenal

Hitler used Hoffman’s photographs to ‘try out’ various hand gestures, uniforms, hats which helped him shape his ‘charisma’

Okay, many series have been produced on the topic but this one is very impressive. The expert historians and photographic experts help the viewer delve into the brilliance of the propoganda machine - “the first political celebrity” and the evil of the man and his views

Highly recommended

Has it got the kinky Eva Braun photographs?
Hoffman did shoot some. I have a book written by a Belgian: Adolf, Eva and the Death, it's called. There is a big chapter about Hoffman and his importance to Hitler's image. And it's got the kinky piccies too!
There's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over

No it didn't Erik.

Many historians were adamant that Hoffman played a massive part in promoting Hitler's image and hence supporting the mass popularity of Nazism.

Hoffmann was arrested by the United States Army on 10th May 1945. He was tried by a denazification court for war profiteering. Hoffmann was classified as a "major offender" in January 1947 sentenced to 10 years in prison, and had his entire fortune confiscated. Werner Friedman called him one of the "greediest parasites of the Hitler plague".

On appeal, Hoffmann's sentence was reduced to four years, because of his lack of official position within the Third Reich

Hoffmann was released from prison on 31st May 1950, and some of his assets were returned to him (!)
