The Gathering - Channel 4

Hugely watchable bingeworthy drama series set in Liverpool or nearby. Only thing is that we need subtitles on to understand what they are saying. :(

We've got it recorded. Re subtitles .... we tend to have them on more on more as the generation of mumblers seems to increase

You are right Chris but this was nothing to do with mumbling just couldn't understand the accent - like a foreign language.

Funnily enough we were waiting at an airport last week and there was a group of Irish guys who had obviously come across to Majorca for a stag do or something like that. They were sitting very near to us clearly having some fun and banter but it took me at least half an hour to work out they were Irish - speaking English, let alone understand what they were saying to one another the accent was so strong.

Living not too far from LIverpool, we might be able to cope better, but if it's like listening to Jamie Carragher for an hour, I think I'd rather mute the tv.
