James Caan RIP

Postby Limpin' Jez McKenzie » 08 Jul 2022, 16:33

"They shot Sonny on the Causeway!"

One of my favourite scenes from the Godafther is the scene where Sonny parts from his mistress and joins his men in a hallway. There is then a few seconds of camaraderie as they jostle their way out the door. A lesser director would have cut this, but for me it is one key scenes establishing the atmosphere of the film.
I kept thinking "swim as far as you can, swim as far as you can".

He was a very good actor who was rarely utilized to his full potential. Go back and look at The Gambler, Cinderella Liberty or Thief. A great character actor in a leading man's body.

So many of those macho '60s/'70s actors ended up supporting Trump. Lifelong Republicans, unfortunately.
