Re: Your favourite TV shows of 2019
I only watch Freeview TV so I've much less choice but what stood out fresh in 2019 were -
The Virtues (C4)
Motherland - series 2 (BBC2)
Wild Bill (ITV)
This Time With Alan Partridge (BBC1)
MotherFatherSon (BBC2)
Endeavour - series 6 (ITV)
Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing - series 1 (BBC2)
Coronation Street (ITV) has been very hit and miss although key storylines have been South Asian schoolgirl Asha secretly endeavouring to lighten her skin and there is a very important story afoot about partner/spousal emotional abuse and "gas lighting" which is steadily and unsettlingly escalating...

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

1) The Wire. Yes, I know it's 15 or more years old, but we've only just watched it. Shame on S.B. household. 2) Spiral. Every season has been magnificent and this latest one is no exception. 3) City on the hill. Never been a Kevin Bacon fan, but he was brilliant in this. 4) Upright. An Aussie road trip series, starring Tim Minchin. Laugh out loud and a few tears along the way. 5) Mindhunter on Netflix. Second series of these serial killer profilers. Rivetting. 6) Bosch on Amazon. Excellent detective series.

I think this last season of Silicon Valley was outstanding.
I think it belongs on that short list of truly classic "sit-coms"
not only was it funny, I think it was really clever and responsible. the internet companies suddenly have a very big place in all our lives.
many aspects of this are underlined but in a fresh & entertaining way. I just loved it and plan to watch it again...
j..ust as soon as I watch all those great shows I'm yet to get around to watching.

I thought Spiral was dreadful after one and a bit seasons but there must be something I missed because far too many people seem to like it.
