As it's apparently as far removed from your run-of-the-mill CGI-laden Marvel/DC universe superhero schlock as it's possible to get and Joaquim Phoenix is supposedly amazing, will deffo get of my arse and go to the flicks to watch this.
With the exception of The Guardian (a miserly 2 stars), reviews I've read have been uniformly excellent. Anyone here seen it or got plans to go?

Well, reviews I've seen have been pretty mixed - most do praise the cinematography (and Phoenix's performance), but highlight pretty significant qualms over the actual story. And with Todd Phillips at the helm I'm staying well away.

If love could've saved you, you would've lived forever.

Finally saw this in Reading over the weekend. Very disturbing it was, too.
My gob was even more well and truly smacked when my impressionable 14-year old great nephew told me him and his mates were off to see it over next week's half-term school holidays, it apparently only having been awarded a 15 Cert.
If I were Martin Scorsese, I'd sue for the liberal artistic pilfering from Taxi Driver and King of Comedy
