Callan 60s UK TV show now showing on Talking Pictures

Postby ` » 05 Mar 2019, 11:12

Started showing the first of the four or five surviving B/W eps last night and will move on to the full run of colour shows later this or early next week.

Anyone else here remember it fondly.

I was somewhat young for it, but I do remember it as one of my Dad's favourite programmes.
We're usually skipping around the function room in our long-johns by now...

Sometimes the ancient shows Talking Pictures digs up are very good. While Armchair Theatre is a bit hit and miss, the recent run of Public Eye' was mostly very good. While the production values were a bit creaky, many of the scripts had held up very well and Alfred Burke was excellent as Marker. Fingers crossed there'll be more duds than failures in the Callan canon.
