Ah, the first "real" (do I mean Rael?) band I got into.
I unconditionally love everything up to "And Then There Were Three", and some of what followed, but they changed, man..........
I still play Selling England and The Lamb much more than I do the later stuff, so maybe Im appreciating those days all over again.
They were capable of moments of incredible beauty, especially instrumentally.
"Hairless Heart" is stunning, and there are lots of moments like that on The Lamb.My kneejerk response is always that "Selling England" is my favourite studio work, but The Lamb comes very close, and thats before I even factor in "Foxtrot".
Favourite track;
Carpet Crawlers,Dawn( from Trespass), Counting Out Time,Suppers Ready,Firth of Fifth, Mad Man Moon,I Know What I Like(esp live)
Nah, its The Cinema Show, from Seconds Out
Album;Seconds Out, with hon mentions for Selling England, and the live Lamb on the boxset.
Bless the weather.......
