Subsilver2 theme deactivated.

Postby JQW » 27 Jun 2015, 23:17

In an attempt to resolve some board problems, I've temporarily deactivated the SubSilver2 board style.

I wish we'd get the black one back... I don't really care about either of the currently remaining styles.

No idea what Subsilver is.

Still looks same on iPad.

Can we choose anything other than the one I now have?
I can't find the option to change it i it is confusing and I can't get my head round it.

It has been dismantled but you could choose your favourite skin via User Control Panel > Board Preferences>Global Settings.

There was a very nice black one that I used but was removed because it destabilised the boards.

Personally I don't like this particular format but we'll wait and see.....

Am I being thick or lucky here?

Absolutely nothing has changed for me.

I still have the very clear light blue / white and grey board which is perfectly fine and always has been since the upgrade last year.

I just don't see the problem.

Subsilver2 was derived from the the old Subsilver then used by phpBB version 2. It was provided in phpBB 3.0 for compatibility issues.

Wait, are you saying we can do that now? Because I don't see any such options under Global Settings. Are there "themes" we can choose from other than this default?

That'll be because you had this one as your theme in the first place.
I guess you'd get used to it in the end but I find it ugly and confusing.

Yes, you could but as I said, it has been dismantled now.

Any idea when – if – it might be back, Jethro?
The problem I always had with this style is that it resizes photos rather than letting avatars bleed off right. Which is a nuisance for me, if no-one else.
