England in the Windies
Nice declaration by Root to set up a chance of a result. Good for him.

And again in second test - England trying to push the games on. Good attitude, and great resilience from Windies.

Leach playing again in the 3rd Test.
One must assume after 3 successive tours without getting a game Parkinson must be considered cannon fodder in the nets.
Hope he's not married, is getting well paid and is having another nice holiday.
Poor sod. I'd be tempted to tell them to shove it.

No doubt Root will tell us it is the bowling that is weak.

Re: England in the Windies
Mayers now has the 2nd cheapest 5 wicket haul against England in Test history.
The cheapest is Boland’s from just a couple of months ago.
Jesus Christ we are pathetic.
But tbh right now I am kind of amused by it all. It’ll wear off soon enough.
One would imagine Root will announce he is stepping down from the captaincy tomorrow.
Better late than never.
I said last summer before the 1st Test that England are going to become the new West Indies; capable of occasional brilliance but dominated by abject failure. That was one of my more prescient observations.
Thing is, there is no way out of this for a good number of years - truth is we are facing a long period of full-on fcukedness and will probably end up bottom of the pile of Test nations before things turn around.... if they ever do. Yes, we are that bad and home advantage will mean nothing next summer.

Great patience from the West Indies to just keep everything steady, with some superb contributions in al, areas.
But England are beyond a shambles.
