When you guys say "original cover," did they swap out the girls photo for the one of Jimi's face in the UK? Because the one of Jimi was always the original in the States.

Jimi disliked the photo of the girls by the way..

Yes, they have Matt and the 'girls' one is no longer used - I did mention in my post that Jimi disliked the 'girls' photo and a few lines supposedly about what he wanted for the cover.

Well, you've got one half decent album in your list :) Whenever I hear "Owner of the lonely heart", all I can envisage is Jon and Chris with their blond highlights :)

Disregarding the highlights, 90125 is a pretty good album, the best of the four C. posted I think. The rest of them are on my 'okay' list, which admittedly doesn't say a great deal for them. Going For The One was regarded as a return to form for them by many but not by me, I remember clearly the disappointment I felt when I heard it for the first time. They never bettered Close To The Edge.

Reminded by Mike Bloom's thread to give them another listen.

Ooops, didn't mean to put this on here but they brought something a little different to the table at the time, so perhaps they can fit in here?

It's my kid brother's 66th birthday today.

I sent him three CDs. I thought I'd give them a spin myself this afternoon:

Plus this after a discussion with Neil Jung about Trees 'raga guitar'

Full of music

Broad church, or does he fit in here? In some ways he does but not latterly perhaps.

From blues purist, to God, to psychedelic mainman, to self-effacing sideman to others, to reluctant frontman, to huge solo artist and back again to the blues purist and so on …………. So where do we stand with Eric?

I love this album and quite a few of his others and he has certainly produced the goods in his long career but in his Derek and the D. guise one of the worst gigs I have ever been to.

What do you think? Might even start a thread.

Despite his racist '70s rant onstage, his current position as a rich, whining, doesn't-want-to-wear-a-mask, Piece of shit releaser of endlessly dull, middle-of-the-road blues rock LPs, I love the guy.

Go figure.

Most people here are gonna hate him.

A friend of mine at the time - Steve Gurl, played with them for a while, might have mentioned that before.

three very young lads (CP is only 20 here) looning around in spectacular fashion

I went to see Carl Palmer last week.
He's 72 and doesn't look a day over 50. Fit as a fiddle and still playing like a maniac
Complete Ramones Mp3 set on its way

What sort of music is CP playing these days, John?

Broad church, well they have featured in here a number of times.

Not as highly thought of as the preceding albums or the one that immediately followed but this is a still a very good album. Perhaps slightly understated compared with the other albums from their ‘purple’ patch but this had some fabulous tracks on it.

I'll endorse what John said.

I saw him with his band about 5 years ago.

Very energetic three piece playing ELP stuff (or did when I saw him)

A young whippersnapper guitarist - no keyboards

[It gets going at 3:30 if you are impatient!]

This seems to be a stable line-up - the one I saw and the present one I think.
