First up today - great band, who never created that really, really great album. All albums very worthy but which is their best studio album? For me it’s Jailbreak, what say you?

Probably "Jailbreak" for me. Well. it does contain the mighty "Emerald". Great live ( saw them on the "Jailbreak" tour in '76 ), but a lot of fillers on their studio albums

Never got on with Thin Lizzy myself. Didn’t like Lynott’s voice for some reason.

I always felt that I should like them more than I actually did.

Beyond the singles I found the albums mediocre and variable

I agree, from the albums I know your pick is my fave.

My go to Lizzy album is the live BBC one Peel Sessions on Strange Fruit

Of course, you have all heard about my 20 minute conversation with Phil back in 1971 at the Lyceum, London....

Haven't listened to this in a quite a few years. Sounds so much like 'Saucerful' era Floyd, except with a flute.

Been out in the garden all day so far, now come in out of the sun for a bit.

This record always reminds me of summer. It was released whilst I was working at United Dairies in Vauxhall for a summer job when I was a student. One of the young guys working there said it was great, so I bought it. Took me a while to get to like it as I really liked their first album and this was a distinct change of sound. Now it’s my favourite JT album and has been almost forever.

Yeah, I’ve got this too, it’s a pretty good prog comp. Haven’t yet managed to find one that’s better.

Swift change of mood, this is an excellent AB album. Not an easy listen at times but certainly makes you pay attention.
