I play them so infrequently it’s hard to remember the ones I particularly like, I do like many of his cover designs though. I’ll have to dig some out and give them a listen.

As well as Apostrophe I do like Hot Rats, Bongo Fury, Lather, Over-Nite Sensation and the more jazzy ones (can’t remember which ones they are). Not keen on the ones with the juvenile smutty humour, although I can tolerate them, 200 Motels is a difficult listen but I understand that was for a film or something. I’ve actually got quite a few of his albums, (by no means anywhere near all of them), particularly the earlier ones, which had great covers like Uncle Meat, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, Absolutely Free and Freak Out!

I’ll have to list the ones I’ve got C. and then you can tell me which ones I should like!

They are very good selections

Are you familiar with Waka/Jawaka and Over-Nite Sensation?

I reckon you’d enjoy them

Go for it Rob!

I’m surprised you name checked Bongo Fury (but I know you like a drop of the Captain)…

Bad news:
Superstar Adele cried on Saturday night as she played her 100th and final show in Las Vegas. The 36-year-old has spent the past two years playing a weekend residency at Caesars Palace, but recently indicated the experience has been emotionally draining. Announcing a career break, she said she had "no plans for new music at all".

After all the doom and gloom in the world today, it's so nice to have a heart warming story. Do you think she'd have a word with Ed Sheeran as well?

Here goes then:

Absolutely Free
Freak Out!
We're Only In It.......
Hot Rats
Burnt Weeny
Uncle Meat
Weasels Ripped
Lather
You Can't Do That Vol. 4
Discreet
200 Motels
Sheik Yer
Tinseltown Rebellion
Zoot Allures
You Are What You Is
The Man From Utopia
Them or Us
Joe's Garage
Joe's Garage II&III
Shut Up and Play Yer Guitar - box set
Over-Nite Sensation
Bongo Fury

and I thought that I had Apostrophe but must have mixed that up with You Are What You Is because the covers are similar, unless of course I have filed it in the wrong place - could have sworn I had it.

To be honest C. I play them so rarely I can barely remember what's on any of them. Not keen on the silly smutty jokes ones or the do-wop stuff but quite like his more jazzy type stuff. The only one I can say with any conviction that I know quite well is Hot Rats of course. So of the ones I've listed which are the ones I should like?

I know why these "superstars" do residencies of course, but I'm not surprised they get burned out by the experience.

Soul destroying I'd have thought, but more fool them for being so money motivated I guess.

(Not my thing as such but nowt wrong with a drop of Adele and Ed. I find them both far more listenable than the likes of Eno, Beefheart, much of Zappa etc. etc.)

Teliof - Is It?

Only album from Israeli band.

Decent. (3rd all-time highest ranked Israeli album on Progarchives FWIW!)

Two of the jazzier albums that you haven't got, which I think you'd like are:

Wake/Jawaka and The Grand Wazoo - certainly own the Hot Rats mould

Some of those you have I can see would not be up your street

Giving this a listen, it's okay so far - dare I say like Mahavishnu Orchestra in places.

Virtually all of the Zappa/Mothers albums I've got I acquired from boot fairs and the like for a few penninies, don't think I ever paid more than a couple of quid for any of them (I know I was robbed) but the interesting thing is that all of the records are in really good condition - either the owners were all very careful with their records or they rarely got played (choose which one).

Don't no anything about Sheeran but Adele is just a no Lord.

Revisiting albums in my "Decent Enough" Spotify playlist... this one I last played in 2019.

Lord Rother wrote:Neverness - The Measure of Time

Spanish prog band with 5 albums, the most recent in 2014, this one from 2009. Sung in English, heavy King Crimson influence but more symphonic overall, nice playing, acceptable vocals, 6 tracks in 60 mins.

Enjoyable.

Wasn't this a sequel to Hot Rats? Really like the cover design.

Not impressed so far, almost sounds like the soundtrack to a musical and one thing I really don't like is the music for musicals, always sounds so lame and forced.
