Cool record, touches of Airplane and United States of America.

New release from the guy who “does” Peter Gabriel in Steve Hackett’s Genesis Revisited tours.

Sounds decent enough (nothing more) but I’ve found his albums do take a little time.

Couple from the British Blues Boom to kick off the morning. The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation were the loudest band I have ever seen, my ears were literally ringing for three days afterwards. No apologies for posting these as there is a direct route from the BBB to prog rock.

Two very good albums.

Savoy Brown were better live than on record and half of Blue Matter tried replicate that

Blue Matter is my fave of theirs

Have you heard Dunbar's Blue Whale it is most excellent if quite poorly recorded

A nice version of one of Frank's songs - of course, Aynsley did stint with Zappa

Did the goons know Dunbar unsuccessfully tried to recruit Robert Fripp as Blue Whale's guitarist after the original Crimso line-up folded....?

I've got Blue Matter C. but Getting To The Point has always been my favourite. Also got Blue Whale thanks to you C. - you sent me a CDR many years ago - good album. Really like Chris Youlden's voice he should have been a major contender.

Didn't know that about Fripp and Aynsley C, might have been interesting.

That's a bit like the Dave Clark 5 approaching Billy Cobham

More from the BBB era. Saw this lot when this album had just been released - they were absolutely fantastic, first gig I ever went to and still rate it as one of the best I have ever been to. Afterwards I got all their autographs on a piece of notebook paper and stuck them on the back of the L P cover. Foolishly I sold the record a few years later as music had moved on in the early 70s, autographs as well. Wish I hadn’t done that - oh well.
