Townsend rarely mentioned in lists of top guitarists. perhaps it's because he rarely solos.
slightbreeze wrote:Bought it, initially, because it features Skunk Baxter. Actually, it's very good and I usually prefer English psyche. The song titles say it all.
Ego Trip
Sacrifice of the Moon
Plastic Raincoats / Hung-Up Minds
(Ballad of The) Hip Death Goddess
Your Head Is Reeling
Dove in Hawk's Clothing
Baroque #1
Funny Freak Parade
Pamela
Think they released a couple more albums, but this is the only one I own. Well worth a listen. The Kaleidoscope album, by the way, is definitely top 3 psyche fave

Weather Report - Night Passage 1980
Thus endeth my Weather Report journey. Fairly good LP, as usual I enjoy the faster tracks more.

Often my favourite WP album
Majestic
Rondo Monstercash
Parts all written out including Jaco's bass line by Zawinul. The fist section is extremely easy to get lost in. Almost completely through composed until the Coda. Amazing. If your not reading and you don't know the piece, you will get lost!

Have you seen this book, great for coming across some unknown and excellent 60's and early 70's psychedelic records.
Full colour pages and writeup/reviews on about 100 psych records, best book on psych i've managed to find yet.

No, I've not seen it .....it looks excellent. Would make an ideal October birthday present from Mrs SB. She always says I never give her any ideas, so this should really floor her
Right, the Thursday garden playlist
Only got half way through this. After a shaky start, they really kicked into gear. However, when it reached 32c, I thought I'd better retire indoors
slightbreeze wrote:"Wake up....." shows a musical maturity. The debut was more sunshine pop psyche, this one shows a group who want to be taken seriously
