Giving this one a go - although with Air Con blasting in my office I'm not going to get the best listening experience!

Don't know this album but of the ones I've heard the first is the best.

Well, what a curates egg. Within the 40 mins, we listen to a band who have no idea what direction they want to head in. We have harmonies (more Marmalade than CSN, but that's no bad thing). Then we have boogie....with a middle section which Thin LIzzy stole for "Emerald". Then we have them trying to be Brian Wilson, then Tull, then pop, similar to City Boy, and then, subliminally, re write "Find the cost of freedom". Amongst all this, we have a cover version of Steely Dan's "Midnight Cruiser", obviously the best song on the album by a million miles. Did I enjoy it? Strangely, yes I did. Must be sunstroke

I have that album and may still have the predecessor. I can’t say I play it very often, maybe every 5 years or so!

I remember the name of the band but have never heard anything by them. Nevertheless that is an eye-catching cover, don't think I've ever seen it before.

My comments from January 2018.

Capability Brown - Voice

I’m sure it must have been posted up on here before but I don’t recall it which I’d have thought I would, what with the eye-catching cover....

Anyway, again, most enjoyable, especially the 20 minute epic Circumstances during which the 6 voices harmonise in a way I found reminiscent of one of my favourite modern day bands, Moon Safari.

I generally read while I am listening and there’s an interesting footer note to Capability Brown - this was the 2nd of 2 albums made before the band split as 3 members went on to join the Chart topping band, Christie, of Yellow River fame.

Outstanding band. One small negative is that they have a comfort zone and stay within it at all times so despite changing membership they haven’t really evolved, just perfected what they do.

Another excellent current band.

I really like the singer’s voice, slightly unusual tone for the genre, gentle, laid back and melodious.

5th live album on the bounce, enjoyable, through the rumbling AC in the office. (Don’t ask me about the quality of the recording.)

It’s not exactly exciting but I thought this was an interesting development from the much maligned Coldplay.
