I think 'What Another Man Spills' is 2000, but 'Saturday Option' is the best thing Lambchop have done.

"Up With People" and "New Cobweb Summer" are my two favourite Lambchop tracks. I believe they're both post 1999.

My (then, obviously) A&R guy took me to see them at Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2000, and I fell asleep during their set.

You should be so lucky.

I'd go with "Up With The People", same as Clip.

Wouldn't have had you down as a fan, John... I saw your name on the thread and thought you'd be here with a dismissive comment.

I probably would have done that, had I heard more than the one song. ;)

Oh I don't know - most of them sound pretty much the same. In a nice way, mind. I like them when I hear them, but there's never anything that really stays with me.

Their cover of "I Believe in You" from this year is quite lovely.

I like the Zero 7 re-mix best. Are we still friends, John? :)

I tend to think that's the least great song on a brilliant album. Nixon doesn't have a truly duff moment, but that song's far from being the best thing on there.

All in all though, I reckon Tapiocahead's got it right, Saturday Option is still their best song. It, and What Another Man Spills came out in 1998, so it not being on this comp is scandalous.

I don't think so. I know it as a Don Williams song from my childhood. One of my dad's favourites was Don.

Yes, the Zero 7 remix especially. Not too keen on them, too much curds not enough way-hey. The versh of Beyond Belief rocks, mind you.
