Easier to count the ones I haven’t got really.

Off the top of my head with the ones I know I have definitely got it’s 79. It’s some of the soul ones I can’t remember clearly enough. An excellent year though.

Amazed to Laurel Canyon so low on the list, also funny the Kinks are placed so highly when the album sold next to nothing at the time, same with the Zombies - hindsight is a wonderful thing. Nevertheless they got the recognition they deserve.

I've got 39 of those.
Doesn't really come as a surprise: most of those are US albums. Of the British offering I only have White Album. Beggars Banquet, Soft Machine, JT, PT, PF and Small Faces. It's unfortunate that nobody bothered to look across the North Sea in those days. Had they, surely Serge Gainsbourg (Initials B.B.) and Cuby + Blizzards (Trippin' Thru' a Midnight Blues) would have been in there.
There's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over

That's one hell of a list in a year when music began to blossom and diversify.
Got 59, and a lot of those I don't own are because I'm not keen on the genre eg soul, plus I don’t own a single studio album by Hendrix, Van or the Stones. Cries of heretic can be heard all the way from Kent

I can add Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley to that list of "never bought a studio album " by them, but I do own Dylan's "Basement Tapes" and "Best of volume 2". I do also own "Best of Hendrix" which I never play.

3. Silver Apples - Silver Apples
4. The Incredible String Band - Wee Tam
5. The Velvet Underground - White Light / White Heat

8. Soft Machine - Soft Machine
9. Simon and Garfunkel Bookends
10. Miles Davis - Nefertiti

Yes, a nice list and the ISB album is superb.

I was raving about the band a few months ago but they didn't get much traction with the Goons

Of course, as you know, the Softs were "The' on their first album

As you were

The criteria is top 100 albums by people who pretend not to be surprised at Jerry Butler's inclusion.

Don't worry, I won't be buying this one

It must be an "incredibly" short album. Did they manage to fill one side?

An excellent album - give it a try (the Evening Raga is more upbeat as is the tradition)
